They’re sometimes called NdFeB or Neo magnets, and despite being so strong, they’re also very light, which is why they’re so popular in a wide variety of applications. It’s hard to believe, but many of the technological advances that have occurred over the past few decades wouldn’t be possible without these rare earth magnets!

How strong are Neodymium magnets?

Very strong. They’ll blow your mind! A 2 gram (0.07 ounce) Neodymium magnet with an 8 mm (0.315 inch) diameter and 5 mm (0.197 inch) length can produce over 1700 grams (3.75 pounds) of force. They’re so strong that they’ve replaced other types of magnets in many applications. For
