Due to its shape, ring magnets are highly appealing for screw-mounting. But be mindful that the material is quite fragile and easily breaks. Strong Ring Magnets Made of Neodymium Countersunk Magnets
Neodymium countersunk ring magnets are available in a wide range of sizes and grades for a variety of applications. Neodymium countersunk ring magnets provide the finest gripping performance and are simple to install. Countersunk rings can be used as closures, fasteners, and supports for items. To obtain a flush and seamless finish, use neodymium ring magnets with a single (or double) countersunk aperture. Please note that the countersunk face of these ring magnets specifies their magnetic polarity.

Ring magnets or NdFeB Rare Earth ring magnets are NdFeB disc magnets with an internal circular hole. In order to take a screw head, a countersunk magnet is a Neodymium ring magnet with one side looking like a standard ring and the other having a slanted countersink, with the angle often (but not always) being 90 degrees. Its cylindrical flat bottom extends from one edge of the main center hole and contains a cap head screw-sized aperture.

Axial magnetization, or magnetization along the magnet’s core, characterizes these variations virtually without exception. As a result, the North pole is represented by one smooth end face, and the South pole by the other.

The orientation is changed when clean rings are turned over. For NdFeB countersunk rings and counterbore rings, respectively, the opposing polarity will be present at the other end, which will appear to be a pure ring in appearance.

If the magnets are solely drawn to a ferromagnetic surface, any type of ring magnet will function flawlessly (independent of axial polarity direction). (combinations of Norths and Souths together will be fine – occasionally a N-S-N-S alternating pattern may offer a modest improvement in performance if the magnets are near enough).

When we speak to the North pole face of a ring magnet, we are referring to the face that is countersunk or counterbored. (The South pole face’s opposite end will be present). The face of the North Pole will be on the opposite end.
